Estela has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare field on different roles working with individuals across the lifespan.

She completed her dental degree in 1997 at the University of Cartagena in Colombia. She worked as general dentist for the regional government of the Bolivar Province until she moved to the United States in 2003. Estela completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at New Mexico State University in 2009. She was a Crimson Scholar on several semesters and graduated with honors.

Estela worked as Registered Nurse on a variety of setting including outpatient rural health, public health and long term care. She completed her Masters of Science in Nursing through Graceland University in Missouri and became a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2014. She joined Sierra Vista Clinic in 2015 providing primary care to people of all ages.

Estela’s interests include women’s health, health promotion, disease prevention, wellness and management of chronic conditions. She is proficient on insertion and removal of Nexplanon® for contraception. Estela has completed training and attained a DATA waiver that allows her to treat opioid dependency in the outpatient setting by prescribing Buprenorphine-Naloxone.
