17501 (open date 03/18/13) Surgical Services Circulating Registered Nurse – Full time position. Provides direct patient care to neonate through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities. Assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met. Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure.

Responsible for the processing and sterilization of supplies, equipment and instruments used by the operating room, following established infection control practices. Participates in the department’s performance improvement activities.

Responsible for evaluation, planning, directing and administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Administers treatments and physical agents as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The staff therapist coordinates, delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff. The staff therapist participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department. Provides input in formulating budget, assists in evaluating department performance versus budget controls and takes appropriate action to remain in budget guidelines. Responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the office/clinic. Keeps the physician(s) informed of both progress and potential problems. Responsible for the direction and evaluation of patient care delivery. Monitors billing, collections, insurance payments and accounts payable. This is a working manager position, such as the manager is expected to assist with clinical and or clerical duties, or cross cover for staff on a limited basis.
